Job Summary:

We are seeking a QA Lead to define and drive our quality assurance strategy, ensuring the highest standards for our mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software quality management, deep knowledge of structured testing methodologies, team management and experience overseeing test automation initiatives.

As a QA Lead, you will play a key role in shaping our testing strategy, prioritising efforts between automated and manual testing, shaping QA processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial products.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set development goals.
  • Distribute workload and take ownership of team performance.
  • Perform job interviews with QA candidates.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to automation initiatives, managing and overseeing the test engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement appropriate QA technologies and methodologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate quality assurance practices at early stages of product development.
  • Mentor other QA engineers and conduct knowledge sharing sessions.

Quality Assurance Strategy & Oversight

  • Define and drive the overall QA strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, engineering processes, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the design and execution of test plans, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Develop a structured approach to mobile application testing, ensuring compatibility across diverse devices, OS versions, and network conditions.
  • Establish processes for software defect identification, documentation, and resolution tracking
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other related teams to improve software quality.
  • Mentoring other QA engineers and sharing knowledge.
  • Ensure the integration of automation into the testing strategy, collaborating with automation engineers to optimize test efficiency and reliability.

Quality Assurance Best Practices

  • Advocate for best practices in testing and automation, ensuring adherence to structured testing methodologies, industry standards, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Define, monitor, and report key QA metrics, such as test coverage, defect density, automation efficiency, and release quality, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess and refine QA strategies based on data-driven analysis to enhance software quality and optimize testing processes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a QA Lead, with a strong technical background.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing test automation initiatives, defining best practices, and guiding QA teams
  • Expertise in test automation frameworks for mobile apps (e.g., WebdriverIO, XCUITest, Appium etc).
  • Skilled in Programming languages used in test automation such as Java, Python, JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of mobile testing challenges and solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms, such as BrowserStack or other similar tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and DevOps teams.

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with performance and security testing concepts.
  • Previous experience in financial domain
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
